Pedestrian killed after being hit by car near Tuskegee
TUSKEGEE, AL (WSFA) - A 61-year-old Tuskegee woman died early Monday morning after being struck by a vehicle, confirms detectives Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers.
Gail Mary Ransom was struck by a 1997 Lexus, officers said, near the 160 mile marker of U.S. Hwy. 29. That's approximately four miles south of Tuskegee.
The incident happened around 3:15 a.m. It was not immediately clear why Ransom was a pedestrian at that time of morning.
Authorities say the driver of the Lexus stayed on the scene. There is no indication that person was injured.
The case remains under investigation.

Wow! This was a shocker. She was a fun individual to hang around with, and I periodically saw members of her family in my goings and comings around the city. I must it admit it has been awhile.

This was a shocker, talked to her in June of 2015, did not know she had died. She was a sweet soul.
