Ann W. Ledbury
(nee Wentworth) Passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by family, on April 3, 2025 at the age of 70. Beloved wife of John for 44 years. Loving mom of Jennifer and Michael. Dear sister of Dave (Barb) Wentworth and the late Tom (Linda) Wentworth. Further loved and remembered by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Ward and Jean Wentworth, and her precious fur babies she loved as if they were her children - Lucky, Charlie, Oliver and Bandit.
Ann graduated from Custer High School in 1972 and Marquette University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1976. Ann was a dental hygienist in private practice and was also an instructor of dental hygiene at Marquette University and WCTC. Ann loved talking with her patients and catching up and getting life updates at their appointments. As an instructor, she was patient, approachable, and was always willing to put in extra time with a struggling student. Answering questions and demonstrating a skill was just one of her many strengths. She always wanted everyone to do their best and succeed.
Ann loved to entertain - she was an excellent cook and was known as the “hostess with the mostess” and the “Queen of hors d’oeuvres”. One of her favorite phrases to tell people raving about her food was “If you can read, you can cook.” Her infectious laugh will never be forgotten, and could often be heard over everyone else at the movie theater. Ann was kind and generous, and would do anything to help anyone or brighten their day as often as she could. She always put others first and was a firm believer that a chocolate malt could fix anything, a tradition her mother started that she proudly kept alive. Although she had some limitations in her last few years, she never complained and never gave up. She was always positive and looked at life as the glass being half full rather than empty. Ann always made the most of everything and continued to do the things that she loved.
She enjoyed pontoon-ing around Pewaukee Lake, traveling, spending time with her family, going out to lunch with her daughter and numerous friends. She was always looking for new restaurants to try and made sure to research the menu extensively ahead of time so she knew all her options. Ann always paid attention to detail and loved planting the most beautiful flower pots to fill her patio so she could admire them in then evening while relaxing with a glass of white wine. Another favorite pasttime, was going for convertible rides with her husband looking for lakeside patios to stop at for a drink or a quick bite to eat.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17th at Harder Funeral Home from 11 AM until time of Funeral Service at 1 PM. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery, Whitewater. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Lung Association appreciated. www.lung.org
