Age 90. Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. 
Passed away on March 27, 1999 after a long convalescence 
at Lutheran General Health Center, Arlington Heights, IL. 
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, 
Earl Joseph Linzenmeyer. 

Carolyn was born in Prairie du Chien, WI on Aug.12, 1908
to the late Emma and Thomas Bergen. She was the oldest, 
and only surviving sibling to Thomas, Florence, Ruth(Boots)
and Marilla. An honors graduate of Mount Mary College, 
Milwaukee, WI, Carolyn devoted much of her adult life to 
teaching English. She retired from Custer High School, 
Milwaukee, WI. 

Carolyn is survived by her 5 children and their spouses, 
Nan(Geno) D'Ercoli of Rolling Meadows, IL, Thomas (Tony) 
Linzenmeyer of Cape Coral, FL, Judy (Rich) Moen of 
Milwaukee, WI, Earl Linzenmeyer, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL 
and Mary (Todd) Karasek of Houston, TX. Grandchildren 
Rachele(Bart) Black, Nicole (Jim) Gifford, Gina D'Ercoli,
Thomas (Dawn)Linzenmeyer, Stephanie (Scott) Burns, Brian 
(Holly) Linzenmeyer, Mary Moen,Michael Linzenmeyer and 
Megan Linzenmeyer and 5 great-grandchildren.   

Family will receive friends at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 
185 East Northwest Highway,Palatine, IL on Mon., March 29 
from 3-9pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in her 
hometown of Prairie duChien, WI at 10 AM on Wed., March 31 
at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. The family will receive 
friends at Garrity Funeral Home, 704 S. Ohio St., Prairie 
du Chien, WI, Tues. 6-8 pm. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
